Job description

Lead Transit Security Technician As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active Top Secret clearance. As the Lead Transit Security Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, and property within the transit system. You will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of security systems and equipment, and provide guidance to a team of transit security technicians Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Lead Transit Security Technician Pay commensurate with experience. Lead Transit Security Technician Responsibilities Include: Coordinates Transit Security Technician schedule to meet daily certification objectives. Coordinates with DS approved consolidated receiving points to ensure timely certification. Verifies secure containers certifications standards for High and Critical Threat shipment destinations. Conducts quality assessments of secure container certifications. Maintains the Transit Security inventory of technical items to meet scheduled mission objectives. Ensures assigned Government vehicles remain serviced to support scheduled certifications. Inspects and accepts secure cargo containers to be used in the shipment of controlled access area materials to overseas posts. Prepares cargo containers for shipment. Provides oversight of cargo loading processes to ensure strict compliance with transit security policies and procedures. Installs transit security physical and technical countermeasures in shipping containers. Coordinates receipt and decertification procedures with receiving posts. Conducts cursory inspections of cargo at consolidation/receiving points for adherence to established security procedures. Investigates and resolves security anomalies and issues. Conducts training for new Special Agent, Regional Security Officer, Security Engineering Officer and Seabee classes being assigned to overseas posts, on transit security systems and procedures. Recommends and assists senior management in the development and implementation of new transit security systems and procedures. Assists management in the oversight of secure shipment operations during absences or times of increased activities. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Lead Transit Security Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: High School Diploma and at least two-years' experience working in the Transit Security field. Knowledge of Federal security laws and regulations, intelligence community directives, and Department of State security regulations, standards and policies and their application to transit security operations to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Expert knowledge of secure shipping techniques, methods and practices especially as they apply to the shipment of controlled access area materials. Knowledge of current Transit Security technology systems, devices and measures including physical and technical countermeasures. Knowledge of overseas post function operations, and political and physical environments to provide guidance to officials at overseas posts on transit security. Knowledge of the roles, functions, responsibilities and requirements of other foreign affairs agencies and intelligence agencies involved in cargo shipment. Ability to install sophisticated countermeasures equipment. Ability to conduct in-depth security analyses, formulate solutions and viable alternatives and implement technical solutions to transit security problems. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to prepare reports, provide advice, assistance, and information and present training.
