Job description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Help Desk Technician to support a long-term government program supporting CISA/ DHS. The Help Desk Technician will be providing onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners experiencing cyber-attacks. The role involves immediate investigation, mitigation plan development, and restoration of services.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first-level Help Desk for the TEN Lab's systems and accounts.
- Assist with new user setup of equipment, accounts, and tools.
- Respond to user requests via email, walk-ins, phone calls, or other communication means promptly.
- Create and maintain accurate tickets for Help Desk activities.
- Employ good problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with Asset Management to support accurate records and maintain a good accounting of assets.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment.
- Assist lab staff with provisioning and issuing equipment to end users, maintaining the inventory database.
- Support systems administration tasks such as patching, updating, and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Provide insight and updates to lab standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Support TEN accounts, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g., Citrix), and MacBook users.
Required Skills:
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI clearance preferred).
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability (2-3 month process unless already active DSH suitability already possessed)
- 1+ years of directly relevant experience.
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux/Unix, and MacOS.
- Proficiency in:
- Asset management practices and principles.
- Help Desk ticket processing and procedures.
- Customer support.
- Keeping detailed notes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across physical locations.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with writing technical procedures and standard operating procedures.
- Virtualization automation and optimization.
- Experience with Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
- Experience with virtual desktops (Citrix, VMware).
Required Education:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related degree; or a HS Diploma with 3+ years of directly relevant experience.

-Max Salary: $74,630/year
