Mano Lani has an open position for a System Security Technician to join our rapidly growing team in the state of Utah. The System Security Technician will be responsible for supporting solutions to provide daily technical support operations for a government client. The System Security Technician has a critical role within our organization, responsible for mission support to the DoD. This individual ensures that everyone has access to the information and resources they need to perform their jobs effectively. The System Security Technician collaborates with stakeholders, both internal and external, to promote and optimize the usage of our organization's assets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Security Technician will be responsible for supporting our client's daily operations by con-ducting Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS) scans; Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG); system topology designs; analysis and implementation of security controls and uniform implementation of RMF based assessment process. (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance: Duties: Design, develop, and manage programs related to upgrading of hardware and software security control management for continued compliance of security and protection plans. Ensuring the development of Risk Management Framework packages for stand-alone and mission systems. Provide artifacts for certification and accreditation packages and provide recommendations for improvements. Authenticates RMF is implemented for all assets connected to the local network for acceptance and approval. Continuously improve processes related to daily system monitoring. Bachelor's degree in information science, Computer Science, or a related field Strong organizational skills and attention to detail System and Application, STIG, and troubleshooting Standards compliance and information assurance to include but not limited to RMF, Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Candidate shall possess a minimum of 6 years related experience working directly with Information Systems. Experienced in PC and Networking support at the System Administrator level Must meet position and certification requirements IAW DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II (Security +) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous learning Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for the position Education / Experience / Certifications: Personnel are required to successfully obtain and maintain background investigations for base access At minimum, six years of experience in providing IT support with an emphasis on Risk Management Framework Experience creating process flow diagrams and documenting solutions Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required plus at least 5 years of experience (10 years of experience can replace education requirement) Experience: Applicants must have the experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties. Must demonstrate knowledge of network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies to include artifact creation for RMF activity. Specialists should have knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as Coordinates with Systems and Applications personnel on issues related to deployment of the VA web and portal applications. Ability to work collaboratively within a team; ability and willingness to adapt to changing business demands. Ability to recommend policies and procedures to ensure the reliability of and accessibility to information systems and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. Ability to produce acceptable amount of work efficiently and accurately; ability to produce quality final work product. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills Ensure the precise application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) Must exhibit an independent interest in the use of new technologies, tools and professional development Building and generating reports, conducting system security evaluations, audits and reviews. Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting to 30 lbs.
