Job description

Temple, Texas (onsite)(relo provided) Leads the compensation function at our client. Responsible for the strategic positioning of compensation incorporating market data, internal equity, and pay for performance. Provides leadership, direction, and counsel on all aspects of compensation. Understands compensation practices in Workday and ensures accurate and timely payments. Set strategy and guidelines associated with all aspects of compensation including base pay, step progressions, job/department premium pay, shift differential, driver compensation, managerial compensation, executive compensation, short term incentives, sales incentives, and long-term incentives. Ensure that compensation programs are consistently administered and compliant with company policies and federal/state/local regulations. Develop strategic partnerships with Finance, Payroll, HR and Legal to ensure all compensation programs are properly implemented and understood. Work closely with the heads of human resources for various business units. Collaborate closely with Executives, Business Leadership and HR to manage, consult, and resolve compensation issues. Plan, develop and implement new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Monitor the effectiveness of all compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Monitor proxy and peer compensation trends for top executives. Evaluate existing plans, practices, and policies. Make recommendations which keep the company competitive. Set strategy and develop specifications for new compensation plans. Modify existing plans to maintain the companys competitive position. Identify trends and issues that impact compensation and make modifications as required to achieve business objectives and comply with new legislation. Manage relationships with external contractors and consultants as needed. Direct the preparation of analyses to ensure pay equity and alignment. Lead and engage the compensation team which includes 3 compensation managers, 5 Analysts. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or another related field required. Master's Degree strongly preferred. CCP required. 10 or more years of compensation experience; heavy emphasis in compensation strategy, design, analytics, and communication. 10 or more years experience administering pay programs Workday or other related HRIS systems. Preferred candidate comes from Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain companies. 4 or more years experience with multiple companies, leadership teams, and business locations. Must have Workday or related compensation and HRIS system understanding. Established history of building credibility and trust across the organization, candid communication, high integrity, sound business ethics and judgment. Ability to quickly understand issues, prioritize, and create actionable solutions. Excellent leadership and advisory experience. Experience with salary surveys, benchmarking analysis, job classifications, and Total Rewards components. Solid understanding of state/federal laws related to compensation. Must be able to present complicated analysis to a variety of audiences from line level employees to executive level in clear, understandable formats. Excellent math and analytics skills. Strong business acumen. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
