Overview:
The Westin at The Woodlands is seeking an exceptional F&B Supervisor to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of the hotel.This role will supervise the Banquets and Room Service Operations. Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. Responsibilities:
Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction.
Ensure team member meet all established service standards.
Assist the Banquet Management team in proper staffing and scheduling- managing levels to Banquet Event Orders (BEO)s.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs.
Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurant menus and hours of operation.
Ensure food and beverage is served while maintaining a consistent presentation and proper temperature.
Deliver food and beverage items to guests.
Conduct inventory on a monthly basis.
Provide general hotel information for guests.
Offer warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests.
Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
Interact with hotel staff in a professional manner.
Conduct pre-function meetings to ensure personal hygiene and apperance standards of staff are met.
Communicate with the meeting planner handling the function to ensure all needs have been met and to check for any last minute instructions or changes.
Complete all daily administrative tasks.
Select tables at random during the function to evaluate food & service.
Up sell other hotel services and amenities to guests.
Communicate all pertinent information to the banquets team.
Attend appropriate department meetings.
Resolve guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness.
Offers product knowledge of food and to guests.
Maintain constant awareness of safety issues and report all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
Follow BEOs with strong attention to detail.
Ensure proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.
Follow through on lost and found procedures.
Implement the hotel's safety and emergency policies and procedures (i.e. evacuation, first aid, etc.) to include removing all safety hazards, following company's OSHA program, safe lifting techniques.
Read, understand, and follow all policies, procedures, and practices as stated in the Associate Handbook.
Report any needed repairs immediately to management.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years Banquet, Food &Beverage, or Catering leadership experience required.
At least six months food & beverage experience required.
Experience at a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel and/or resort is highly desired.
Must possess valid TABC certificate.
Must possess valid Food Handler's card.
Must have excellent leadership skills and be a positive example for staff.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
