Job description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer II Department: Engineering Location: San Antonio, TX 78249 Summary of Position The Electrical Engineer II is a mid-level position in hardware and software development pertaining to Electrical Systems. As an electrical engineering team member, you will work with the Senior Engineer in the analysis of electrical circuits for use by the USAF to test and evaluate avionics hardware. Approximately 70% of the engineering work is related to the electrical analysis and 30% to the documentation. This position requires an individual eager to perform and produce, taking on increasing responsibilities. A Senior Engineer shall provide direction throughout the project development life cycle and provide support as needed given that every project at E-Spectrum is unique and a learning experience. Travel: Up to 10% Essential Job Requirements: Work with Senior Engineer in the analysis of electrical circuits. Contribute to the Tear Down of avionics hardware to determine aging issues, component failure modes, and root cause. Evaluate electrical hardware for reliability and performance. Design test fixtures, harnesses, and interface adapters to test avionics equipment. Develop in-house electrical tests for circuit card components. Organize data, evaluate results, and write final report. Most projects require a final engineering report so technical writing skill are a definite requirement. Work with Senior Engineer in the development of state of art Automated Test Stations that test avionics hardware. Contribute to design of Test Stations consisting of commercial off the shelf instrumentation. Contribute to design of Interface Test Adapters and cabling from Test Station to Unit Under Test. Contribute to Integration of Hardware and debugging of Software (LabVIEW) to ensure proper functionality. Able to work independently with direction from Senior Engineer. Seeking detail oriented individual willing to work in a demanding fast-paced environment. Produce quality material including schematic diagrams, engineering documentation, Test Plans, and Engineering Reports. Must possess excellent technical writing skills. Additional duties as required when needed. Required Experience: 5 - 7 Years of Experience Experience with electrical hardware design and software development. Knowledge of Analog and Digital Circuits. LabVIEW programming preferred. Familiar with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel, Must be very knowledgeable in the use of standard test equipment including Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies (AC & DC), and Function Generators. Education Required: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent engineering degree. Certification Required: None required but LabVIEW certification is a plus. Additional Highly Desired Skills: LabVIEW, CVI, C, C++. Familiarity with National Instruments products, AutoCAD. Previous electrical troubleshooting skills within US military. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs. Security Clearance Required: None required but must possess ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
