Major Position Responsibilities:
This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX. This is an on-site position.

SUMMARY: Implements, tests, troubleshoots and improves electronic automation and controls systems in manufacturing/production/operations processes to increase production quality, efficiency and volume. Checks control system schematics and specifications and uses software and testing equipment to diagnose and resolve system malfunctions. Develops and defines control system applications for various machinery and equipment using technologies or platforms such as ladder logic programming for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), data control systems (DCSs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), computerized numerical control (CNC) systems or motion control technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.

Provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.

Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments.

Documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods.

Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.

Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience

Completes a variety of atypical assignments

Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments

Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments

Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience

Basic Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience

Required: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience, or, Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education and/or Experience

Preferred: Associate's Degree with Technical Training

Electronic Equipment Installation.

Engineering Support.

Laboratory Supply Management.

Performance Analysis.

Technical Troubleshooting.

Testing Result Reporting.

Control Systems.

Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments.

Test Documentation and Equipment Repairs.

Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

For Mesquite Operations:Knowledge of parametric and industrial control systems

Familar with OSHA Safety Standards and Regulations

In-Depth Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems and Schematics

In-Depth Knowledge of Siemens PLCs and Drives

Basic Computer and Report Writing Skills

Preferred

Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

Physical Demands

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

May need to stand for long periods of time.

Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

May be requested to work a different shift.

This position is Safety Sensitive

Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours as required.
