Job Description:

The Client Threat Response Advisory Center (VTRAC) Intelligence Team requires a Data Scientist Consultant (with CyberSecurity experience) to support the Client Threat Intelligence Platform service (VTIPS), the Rapid Response Retainer (RRR), and other Client elements requiring Cybersecurity and threat intelligence support. In this role you will be interacting with other internal VTRAC teams and as well as assorted Professional Services (PS) groups to design, develop, and implement technical solutions for the various cybersecurity issues they face. These solutions should focus on gathering, analyzing, tracking, and ultimately generating actionable threat intelligence as a byproduct of their deliverable. In addition to designing new solutions, you will also be working on enhancing the data contained within the Client Enhance Threat Intelligence Feed (VEIF), ensuring delivery of the feed to our customers, as well as ensuring the integrity of the data contained within the feed.

Learn and understand the investigative process of the various VTRAC teams to ultimately understand the priorities and tradeoffs of their business.

Utilize considerable creativity to merge ideation, knowledge of systems, and insights from SMEs to propose projects that are meaningful and actionable.

Partner with team and non-team members to understand customer requests, develop use cases, assess project feasibility, creating timelines and milestones for the project, and validating project deliverables.

Maintain and contribute to the team s knowledge base.

Stay up-to-date on new features for deployed and emergent technologies.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

You ll need to have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, equivalent degree, or three or more years of work experience.

2 or more years of relevant work experience.

Proven experience with Neo4j database design and development.

Three or more years of Python programming experience and a willingness to learn.

Understanding of Object-Oriented design methodologies.

Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and self-motivation.

Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Even better if you have:

Cybersecurity/threat intelligence experience, interest, or skills.

Experience using ElasticSearch, specifically their AL/ML functionality.

Exceptional problem solving skills.

Experience developing microservices using containerization (Docker).

Experience using message-queueing services (beanstalkd).

Familiar with version control software (GitLab).

Able to analyze and understand technical requirements and features.

Linux/UNIX proficiency is required.
