Position Overview
Nebulon Dynamics is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of plumbing systems, high-quality workmanship, and a dedication to safety and efficiency. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure each project is completed to Nebulon Dynamics high standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including new installations, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Repair:
Install and repair plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipes, drains, water heaters, and water supply lines. This includes working with copper, PVC, PEX, cast iron, and other materials.
- System Maintenance & Inspection:
Perform regular maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure reliability and longevity. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions to prevent failures.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic tools to locate plumbing issues, assess their cause, and execute repairs. Troubleshoot complex problems in various settings, from minor residential issues to intricate commercial systems.
- Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and plumbing codes on each job. Implement safety measures during all installations and repairs, ensuring a safe environment for both the team and the client.
- Blueprint & Code Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions to ensure accurate installations and repairs. Follow local plumbing codes to maintain compliance.
- Emergency Response:
Be prepared to respond to urgent issues like leaks, clogs, or equipment failures, minimizing downtime and preventing damage to property.
- Client Interaction & Education:
Engage with clients to explain the nature of work and offer suggestions for maintaining plumbing systems. Provide clear communication and deliver exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction.
- Inventory & Material Management:
Track materials and tools used on jobs, and report inventory needs to the purchasing team. Ensure each job site is equipped with the necessary supplies to complete projects efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education & Licensing:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Journeyman or Master Plumber license (as required by the state of Texas).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in residential or commercial plumbing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of plumbing materials and systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using plumbing tools, including augers, wrenches, pipe cutters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to clients and team members.
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks, often in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on quality.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- Certifications:
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Additional Skills:
- Specialized knowledge in water conservation systems, water heater repair, or large-scale piping systems is a plus.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and their relation to plumbing (advantageous but not required).
