The Operations Cost Accounting Director will be responsible for the management of the joint interest, accounts payable, operation costs and property accounting functions including responsibility for all related processes and procedures as well as all journal entries and account reconciliations ensuring that ongoing accounting transactions for operations in the assigned areas are performed in an accurate, timely manner complying with all mandated regulatory requirements and timeframes.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to excel at the following:

Oversight of joint interest, accounts payable, operation costs and property accounting functions.

Oversight of monthly accounting closing process and validation of financial information.

Oversight of all related monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

Responsible for related monthly financial and business analytics.

Responsible for accounting processes within Enertia system and related support systems.

Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of all related workflows with focus on improving financial information and streamlining the accounting closing cycle.

Ensure that business process controls over the monthly closing process are operating effectively through review and approval of processes and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining strong relationships across the company ensuring efficient and effective processes for receiving financial data needed for the accounting close process and delivering outputs of financial data to the company.

Key advisor on accounting and financial reporting issues for Operational Accounting.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and US GAAP.

Assists with the accounting integration of acquisitions.

Provides support and assistance to external auditors during annual audits.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following experience:

Bachelor's Degree in accounting.

10+ years of relevant accounting management experience.

15+ years of upstream oil and gas upstream accounting experience.

Strong leadership skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Strong accounting system knowledge.

Enertia experience a plus.
