Job description

Hydraquip is looking for a candidate who wants to take the next step in their technical career to join our 100% employee owned company. Hydraquip is a fluid power distributor for over 40 world class brands of products as well as a provider of value added solutions to customers including pump/motor assemblies, mobile valve assemblies, hose kits, repair, hydraulic power units and electrohydraulic solutions. The Operations Assistant is responsible for contributing to increasing team efficiency by giving support operationally and administratively, performing a variety of tasks to facilitate a well-organized distribution center, completing specialized tasks for distribution as instructed by the Operations Manager to relieve staff of certain essential and routine responsibilities, and assisting staff in finishing projects and workflows as requested to meet deadlines.

Specific responsibilities and authorities may include:

Assist with the preparation of daily invoicing and documentation.

Assist managers with daily tasks when away.

Timely and accurately execute and/or log shipping transactions, deliveries, bills of ladings, and other required documentation according to schedule.

Assist with general sales inquiries including request for quotes, order entry, and status requests.

Assist with tasks associated with various audits, for example, Inventory and ISO.

Assist with various departmental reports, for example, open order reports, shipping reports, and expedite reports.

Work with the ISO Management Representative.

Assist various department leads with day-to-day tasks and goals.

Fill in for various positions as assigned by management.

Follow all policies and procedures as specified in the company manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

Maintain high employee morale.

Carry out all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.

Support and participate in the organization's continual improvement program and conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting Quality Management System objectives. Understand the implications of not conforming with the quality management system requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.

Associate degree is considered a plus.

Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.

EXPERIENCE

Up to two (2) years of operations experience.

Experience in an industrial distribution environment is considered a plus.

Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment is considered a plus.

Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong Time Management skills.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).

Knowledge of ERP software a plus (e.g., P21, Tribute).

PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Able to stand, walk, sit, and bend, 8 hours per day.

Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Able to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Able to continually pass a drug test.

Able to work flexible hours.

Occasional exposure to a production environment.
