Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license and a strong background in the upstream oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical systems in oil and gas operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for upstream oil and gas operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, process, and control engineers, to ensure the integration of electrical systems.
  • Conduct power distribution analysis, load calculations, and system reliability assessments.
  • Provide technical expertise for the selection and installation of electrical equipment in hazardous environments.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical systems and equipment failures.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.) and company safety guidelines in all electrical designs and installations.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project management and clients.
  • Collaborate with field teams for on-site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations.
  • Engage with external vendors and contractors to ensure the timely delivery and installation of electrical systems and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on upstream oil and gas operations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations in the oil and gas sector.
  • Experience with power distribution systems, electrical equipment in hazardous environments, and system reliability assessments.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in upstream oil and gas projects (drilling, production, and processing).
  • Knowledge of automation in oil and gas operations.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
