CNC Machinist

Position Title: Machinist (Manual and CNC Mills / Lathes)

Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire

Schedule: Day Shift, M-F

Compensation: $25/hr. - $35/hr.

CNC Machinist Position Summary:

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, this role involves planning, laying out, and performing a wide range of machine tool operations in a shop environment to construct, alter, and repair pump components. This position is available for both 1st and 2nd shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate various machine tools, including engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, mills, and radial drill presses, with or without D.R.O. or other computer-enhanced equipment.

Program and edit computer-aided equipment.

Operate forklifts, saws, and torches.

Plan work and operational sequences for machining operations related to product construction, alteration, and repair.

Interpret complex drawings, sketches, and specifications.

Provide machining support for jig and fixture projects and prototype development.

Assist in the construction of tooling and equipment required for production.

Perform development and experimental work as needed.

Advise and assist lower-classification operators on complex tasks and drawings.

Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, and equipment issues to the Supervisor or Leadman.

Replace cutting tools, drills, taps, grinding tools, blades, sanding belts, and discs as required.

Deburr parts before moving to the next operation or final inspection.

Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.

Complete time and production reports or enter information into a designated data input terminal.

Observe all safety and ISO 9001/14001 requirements.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the setup and operation of all manual machines.

Knowledge of various metals and their properties as related to machining.

An AA in Industrial Technology or equivalent is required.

Basic shop arithmetic

Proficiency in basic computer knowledge.
