Job Location: Greenville, Texas Schedule: 5x8 (mission dependent) Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance Job Description: L3Harris is seeking a Lead, Flight Operations - RC-135 Pilot for our location at Greenville, Texas supporting the US Air Force. This position conducts and supports ground and flight test activities for all assigned mission equipment, as required. Performs flight tests to validate developmental, functional, structural, and system modifications with exposure to various runways and airfield operations. Ensures operational readiness of crewmembers by conducting and supervising flight operations training, standardization and evaluations. Develops plans and policies, monitors operations, and advises Director of Operations. Assists operations by performing staff functions related to flight operations within tasked program. Essential Functions: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct and support ground and flight test activities for RC-135 and variant aircraft including:
Perform Functional Check Flights (FCFs)
Mission planning of all flight-related activities
Lead flight test operations and crew as command or co-pilot
Flight/Mission instruction and evaluation as required
Mission Monitor as needed
Support Local Flight Operations with duties that may include:
Flight Scheduling of programs as required
Ownership and maintenance of Center Ops Online (COOL) training records
Oversight of aircrew STAN/EVAL program. Qualifications: Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
OR Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 10 years' experience as an RC-135 pilot and 5 years' as an instructor
Currently qualified as an RC-135 Instructor and FCF Pilot
Experience as an RC-135 Evaluator and Command Pilot
Previous experience with depot level flight test, FCFs, and aircraft modifications
5 years' experience in Air Force Standardization and Evaluation processes
Worldwide deployable, with travel up to 30% of the time
Availability to work various shifts and weekends as needed. Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass and maintain FAA Class II Flight Physical
Ability to move up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time
Ascends/descends ladders up to 5% of the time Preferred Additional Skills: Familiarity with USAF flight instructions, operations processes, and COOL
Minimum 1500 flying hours on the RC-135
