GeoLogics is partnering with an aerospace and defense company on an exciting Systems Engineeropportunity based in Grand Prairie, TX. This is a full-time, 12+ month contract position. Position: Systems Engineer (12+ month contract) Location: ONSITE in Grand Prairie, TX Pay: Up to $88.51 per hour Clearance Requirement: Active DoD issued Secret clearance Due to the nature of work performed in this role, U.S. Citizenship is required. Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB and C++ models of weapons, sensors, ground systems and environments, guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms and actual Operational Flight Program code into the 6-Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) Integrated Flight Simulations (IFS).
Perform modeling and simulation tasks for system survivability, Safety of Flight (SOF), trade studies and simulation analyses for end-to-end kill chain assessment
Use the simulations to support Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) Lab to verify performance requirements are met.
Support integration and testing of hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL).
Participate in flight test prediction and data performance analysis for flight tests
Education and Experience Required: Active DoD issued Secret clearance is required to start
B.S. degree in Engineering Field or Physics and minimum of 8 years of related experience (or 6 years with a master's degree)
Proficiency in C++
FORTRAN experience with 6-Degree of Freedom simulation
Experience in Aerospace Applications
Preferred Skills and Experience: Proficient in C++ and MATLAB and/or Python
Willingness to work onsite in a classified lab environment
Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to support flight tests
Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)
Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics, and rotating coordinate systems.
