Job description

Overview:
The The Patient Services Manager will manage the Program Registration and Benefits Assistance processes in the LSCC Clinics/Service Lines and will focus on supporting sustainable operations through revenue generation by ensuring appropriate program registration and eligibility processes resulting in successful and appropriate health care safety net program enrollment such as Medicaid, CHIP, MAP, MAP Basic, etc. and insurance coverage through the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace. In addition, the Patient Services Manager will ensure that the Program Advisors, Benefits Specialist and Enrollment Counselor staff productivity and measured goals are achieved at an organizational level.

Responsibilities:
Daily Duties:

• Ensures effective, timely, clear and concise communication of program updates and changes throughout the organization
• Provides coverage and support working closely in coordination with the Patient Services team
• Assists Practice Administrators, Associate Practice Administrators, and Clinic Site Manager - Nurses with development of work schedules and assignments for staff according to hours of operation, workload, space and equipment availability
• Provides conflict resolution and responds to patient escalation contacts in a timely manner
• Maintains and provides reports daily, weekly, monthly and as assigned
• Monitors performance of software/technologies used in the department and able to recognize/identify when to report a technical issue
• Attends and participates in meetings, training and conferences as required
• Provides flexibility by working varying shifts as necessary and traveling to different work locations as needed
• All other duties as assigned
• Monitors the operations of the Patients Services team and reports any pertinent information or process improvement
suggestions to the Practice Administrator ("PA"), Associate Practice Administrators ("APAs") and CFO Type in specific job duties under this area
• Monitors all Program Registration and Benefits Assistance related policies and procedures through Policy Tech to ensure that they are current and accurate for current practice
• Manages Network Sciences relationship for Verify Source system to ensure system is accurate and updated in a timely manner
• Creates and presents statistics and departmental updates in formal presentations on a frequent basis
• Uses and promotes company recognition programs and understands the direct correlation between recognition and retention
• Contributes to evaluation of staff performance within the department
• Responsible for knowledge and compliance of all LSCC policies and procedures
• Pursues new and more efficient ways to provide excellent patient and staff experiences

Training:

• Leads training to staff, while maintaining and ensuring training material is current and staff is aware of current protocols and procedures
• Completes 1:1 trainings with staff when specific deficiencies are identified at the individual level
• Participates in professional development and performance improvement activities to strengthen the overall organization

Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or higher preferred
• Minimum of 3 - 4 years experience in a range of health care assistance programs preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in program eligibility or related human-services work preferred
• Medical program application completion and enrollment experience is preferred
• Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
