What you'll be doing as a Flight Control Systems Engineer: DESIGN AND TEST We're more than aviation experts, we're pioneers. We challenge what's possible. We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Valor Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort, and a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor as part of the DARPA SPRINT program. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and designing upgrade kits for the legacy fleet. Skills You Bring To this Role: Experience in embedded system development in areas such as: System architecture design, derivation of system, software, and component level requirements, design and development of system architecture, system redundancy management, fault management, crew alerting, flight management, aircraft autonomy, actuation (hydraulic or electric), and system integration, verification, and validation in desktop integrated lab environments, pilot in the loop simulated environments, and/or on flight test aircraft. Experience/Familiarity with the Development and test in accordance with appropriate commercial or military regulatory requirements, such as: RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, AMACC, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems Experience/Familiarity with software development in an embedded or real-time operating systems (RTOS) environment utilizing Model Based Design (MBD) techniques with tools such as MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder. Experience/Familiarity with the hardware and software associated with Flight Control Systems, Avionics, Electrical System, engine controllers (e.g. FADECs), inertial sensors, air data computers, analog sensors, mission systems, crew stations, and/or actuation devices Experience/Familiarity with System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, and Certification/Test plans Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience What you need to be successful We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate. You'll need a Bachelor's degree, with a Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science being preferred. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
