Job Summary

The Director of Strategy Planning and Decision Support is responsible to spearhead El Paso Health's (EPH) strategic planning and to provide leadership to UMC's Decision Support processes. Focuses on strategies to position the Medicaid and Medicare Managed Care Organization (MCO) in the El Paso and Hudspeth Region. Leads the health plan strategic planning process and manages project progress throughout its life cycle. Works in close collaboration with the Hospital District Chief Strategy Officer and UMC Strategic Management department as well as the Senior Leadership of EPH to ensure consistency between the overall El Paso County Hospital District (EPCHD) and EPH Strategic Plan. Utilizes advanced analytics and data management to help senior leadership make informed decisions that enhance patient care, streamline operations, and improve financial performance.

Minimum Job Requirements

Work Experience

Five years of experience in strategic management or business development is required; preferably in a healthcare or a managed care setting.

License/Registration/Certification

None.

Education and Training

A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Service or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

  13. Strong intra-personal skills to collaborate with multi-functional teams and different levels of employees and leaders.
  14. Knowledge of strategic planning and an extended-term strategic outlook.
  15. Proficiency in computer software programs and use of basic office equipment.
  16. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
