Job description

Position Title - Release Manager

Domain - Banking / Finance

Location - Dallas, TX / Austin, TX (onsite)

Duration - CTH

The Release Manager will own the Release Management life cycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases for multiple applications across client's business processes. This includes application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, projects, and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Release Management:

Own the Release Management life cycle.

Coordinate with stakeholders, including project teams, product teams, QA, and internal/external clients.

Manage stakeholder notification, change tickets, and release processes in multiple environments.

Support developers and testers in setting up their build dev/test environments.

Improve software engineering processes and practices.

Build the IT Release Calendar with other IT release managers.

Stakeholder Coordination:

Maintain the release schedule for core services.

Manage risks and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, and quality.

Coordinate with Change Management and operations to execute changes.

Identify configuration items with software developers and technology team members.

Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks.

Prepare and maintain release configuration documentation.

Communicate release details and schedules to Business Units.

Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities.

Conduct after-hours deployment activities.

Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Formal training in project management practices preferred.

Experience:

8+ years in an enterprise software organization.

6-8 years of experience with Release Management discipline and processes.

Experience with Agile & SAFe, working with Agile teams, and leveraging Agile tools.

Experience in the financial industry preferred.

6+ years in information systems operations in systems analysis or development.

Skills:

Ability to build and maintain release dashboards in GCP environment

Ability to Monitor & Maintain CI/CD & DevOps pipelines for Release Management

Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Experience mentoring and guiding engineers.

Excellent facilitation, organization, and collaboration skills.

Ability to influence and negotiate.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Effective leadership and analytical skills.
