JOB SUMMARY: Support and service the room attendants. Responsible for but not limited to the following duties: delivering/carrying down and sorting linen, special cleaning projects, vacuuming guest corridors, delivering guest laundry, discarding trash from guest rooms/corridors/service landings, room readiness moving furniture, delivering glass ware, and other requests that may be asked by the housekeeping supervisors and management. Ensuring guest requests are delivered in a timely manner and in pristine condition.

Physical abilities:

  1. Walking: Constantly. Often long periods.
  2. Crouching (Bend at knees): Frequently. Bending to vacuum and perform cleaning duties.
  3. Stooping (Bend at waist): Frequently. Stooping to vacuum and perform cleaning duties.
  4. Reaching (Overhead/extension): Frequently. To perform cleaning duties.
  5. Fingering/Feeling: Frequently. Move fingers, hands and arms quickly and easily to handle linen, glasses and amenities.
  6. Pushing/Pulling: Frequently. Pushing 200 pound carts
  7. Lifting/Carrying: Frequently. Lifting 50 lbs maximum.


Working Environment:
  • All interior areas of the hotel.
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & Responsibilities:
  1. Sweep and mop floors in service landings on assigned floors as needed or directed by a supervisor/manager.
  2. Vacuum carpet throughout the assigned guest corridors daily.
  3. Report maintenance issues to engineering staff and housekeeping supervisors and management.
  4. Report any safety hazards to housekeeping supervisors and management immediately.
  5. Assist guests as needed when in the guest halls.
  6. Assist with special projects as directed by supervisors and management.
  7. Keep detailed notes of assigned tasks throughout the shift. Turn in completed task sheet at the end of each shift with time and noting each item as being completed.
  8. Keep in constant communication with supervisors and managers until you return your radio to the housekeeping office. At no time should communication be cutoff prior to that.
  9. Deliver guest requests in a timely manner and alert supervisor/manager on duty when completed.
  10. Deliver requested supplies for room attendants to ensure successful completion of guest rooms.
  11. Deliver linen and supplies to housekeeping storages on assigned floors.
  12. Ensure all trash and dirty linen is collected at the end of each shift.
  13. Remove all room service trays from guest sight on the guest floors. Place trays in housekeeping storage or service landing.
  14. Assist with moving furniture, rugs, and equipment as needed.
  15. Ensure all equipment is properly cared for and secure at the end of each shift.
  16. Assist with checking guest restrooms for cleanliness if needed or directed by a supervisor/manager.
  17. Assist with stripping rooms on occasion by taking trash and dirty linen out of room. Remove room service trays as well.
  18. Ensure assigned floors' housekeeping storages are properly filled with linen, towels, and room amenities for the day.
  19. Maintain shelf organization in assigned storages.
  20. Ensuring guest request items such as microwaves and refrigerators are delivered smelling fresh and clean. Cribs are delivered with fresh clean sheets and are secure.
  21. Ensure chemicals are used per OSHA regulations and Cavalry Court standards.
  22. Assist with spot cleaning carpets in guest rooms with the proper chemicals.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Previous housekeeping preferred, but not necessary.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Multi task-oriented.
  • Practical and organized in a small work area.
  • Ability to overcome unexpected obstacles through resourceful means.
  • Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Excels in a fast-paced work environments
  • Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and management.
  • Ability to take direction from hotel and housekeeping management.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, follow-through courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
