Job description

Xtreme Collision Repair is looking for a Mobile Technician to join our team in the DFW area! The Mobile Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostics, scans, repairs, and some ADAS work on a wide array of vehicles and brands. This position will consult with the customer shops and promote Smart Vehicle Solutions as it relates to our provided services.

Pay Structure and Operation Hours

  • Monday-Friday 8am-6pm

  • Travel within the assigned geographic area is expected.

  • No Weekends!

  • Commission role with pay based on cost of repairs rendered

  • Weekly pay with a guaranteed floor

  • Commission percentage based on experience level.

  • Weekly Pay every Friday via direct deposit.

Mobile Technician Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary client contact as needed within the service process.
  • Traveling to clients' locations to perform services on a variety of vehicles.

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues accurately and efficiently.

  • Repairing or replacing defective parts and components, including airbags and electrical systems.

  • Perform pre and post collision scans. Providing scans to customers to discuss next steps if needed and professional opinions.

  • Utilize various OEM tools and diagnostic equipment to make the most effective recommendations for repairs and calibrations on multiple makes and models.

  • Prepare report paperwork for customers using established standards.

  • Read and understand measurements in both standard and metric units.

  • Act as a subject matter expert and adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to individuals on a consistent basis.

  • Evaluate information and data to provide comprehensive interpretation of technical information, electrical components, and Advanced Safety Systems (ADAS).

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in e-learning or other training sessions to stay well-informed with rapidly changing automotive technology.

  • Keep all certifications current and obtain new certifications as needed.

  • Responsible for driving customer vehicles safely for the purpose of diagnosing, testing, and repair of assigned work orders.

  • Utilize understanding of the structure and practices of various types of repair facilities, body shops, insurance carriers to facilitate effective working relationships.

  • Collaborate with other technicians to perform in depth diagnostic test plans.

  • Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.

Mobile Technician Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of mobile technician experience OR experience in a similar, related position as an Automotive Technician.

  • OEM scan tool and aftermarket scan tool experience and knowledge.

  • Proficient in diagnostics of faults, error messages and modules.

  • Strong automotive mechanical and electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience

  • Proficient understanding of automotive industry and various manufacturer acronyms and lingo

  • Current, valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office

Mobile Technician Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a mobile technician or body shop internal mechanic.

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Certifications: ASE, I-Car, MECP, OEM

  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient mentality.
