Job Title: Underwriting Account Senior Representative

Pay Rate: $18.66-22 (exact rate pending), paid weekly

Location: 100% Remote, candidate must have quiet WFH space, reliable high-speed internet

Schedule: 8 am-5 pm Central Time

Length of Assignment: Through 2024, potential for extension/conversion pending performance attendance and business need

Start Date: 10/14/2024 (Tentative)

Job Overview:

As an Underwriting Account Senior Representative, you will join a team dedicated to assessing risk for Medicare Supplement and a portfolio of supplemental products, including Whole Life and Cancer and Heart plans. Your role will involve evaluating underwriting requirements, making risk-based decisions, and interacting with agents and applicants. The position requires critical thinking, strong communication skills, and adherence to established guidelines and schedules. No time off will be accommodated during the assignment due to urgency.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately assess medical history using established underwriting criteria. Review enrollment applications and third-party data to evaluate risks.

Develop a strong understanding of product offerings and underwriting criteria to make informed decisions.

Reach out to applicants to clarify medical history, asking probing questions related to medical conditions or prescription usage.

Complete application reviews within established turnaround times to meet service level targets.

Clearly communicate underwriting decisions, especially for denied coverage, through detailed written correspondence.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the underwriting support and new business teams.

TOP 3 NON-NEGOTIABLE SKILLS:

Medical underwriting experience with strong critical thinking skills

Strict adherence to established protocols and schedule

Strong communication skills

Skills/Requirements:

1+ years prior Healthcare Underwriting experience required.

Medical knowledge or prior medical Insurance-related work experience required.

Above average knowledge of medical conditions/prescriptions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

Ability to meet production and quality standards.

Intermediate PC Skills

Experience working in a remote environment

Education:

High School diploma is required.
