Job description

Position/Job Title: Computer Support Specialist V Work Location: Austin, Texas Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 Job Summary KaiHonua, LLC has an immediate opening for a Computer Support Specialist V. The Computer Support Specialist V assesses and troubleshoots computer support problems and applies understanding of computer software and hardware products and services to resolve problems of users. The service desk representative provides assistance to users and organizations using computer software or equipment. Properly diagnose problems and guide users through problem resolution. Set up, image or repair computer equipment and related devices. Train users to utilize new computer hardware or software, including printing, installation, word processing, and email. Respond to phone, web, fax and email requests for assistance using remote tools and automated trouble ticketing system. Make site visits to provide touch labor. Provides account management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned): Install and maintain network hardware: including wireless, wired, data systems, and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) Manages, operates, and supports secure and non-secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) access and gateways, and encryption devices Implements and manages a wide range of network security systems: firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Vulnerability Management Systems, and Intrusion Detection Systems Responds and evaluates network incidents and corrective measures Monitor network status and Remedy ticket queues Accurately document troubleshooting actions and customer communication in the ticketing system Complete tickets and documentation within timelines required by the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and IT Metrics Communicate unresolved issues or any significant changes on the network to team lead, and escalate tickets when necessary Provide technical input for documenting workflows using Army template for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) Perform work using existing TTPs Update network infrastructure documentation to reflect changes Develop and cultivate excellent working relationships with local and enterprise work centers Configure network infrastructure devices per current Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and document in Security Check List Contribute to projects that improve network services to the customer Able to assess and run cable when needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education / Experience / Certifications High school/GED 5-7+ years of experience in IT support role, with at least 3 of the most recent years supporting networking infrastructure, preferably at an Army Network Enterprise Center preferred Current CCNA certification Strong technical aptitude, ability to research, and solve complex issues independently. Significant experience working with Windows servers and network monitoring tools. Proven experience in network administration, routing, and switching. Experience configuring rules and monitoring and troubleshooting the network traffic traversing through the firewall is preferred Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002 MS Desktop Support Technician or equivalent certification preferred Abilities Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals Security Clearance Position requires a DoD security clearance. Must be a US citizen. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds, as necessary.
