Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Corporate Technical Services team has an opening for Drafting Supervisor.

This position is responsible coordinating all aspects of the Drafting department. This includes supervision of the team, scheduling of projects, and assisting with shop drawings.

You'll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Frequently reviewing, updating, and maintaining the team's project schedule to ensure critical projects are prioritized and all projects are on track for timely completion.
• New project intake: identifying complexity, appropriately scheduling the project within the team, reviewing the project with the assigned drafter.
• Auditing the project before release.
• Leading, coaching, mentoring and motivating a team of approximately 5 associates.
• Driving key metrics associated with quality, quantity and regularly reporting results.
• Maintaining an atmosphere of u0026ldquo;World Classu0026rdquo; performance and support for our branches.
• Assisting other corporate teams when needed, such as Marketing, Engineering, and the CIA Hub.
• Assisting in shop drawings when needed, including answering questions from internal and external customers.
• Keeping existing tools current while looking for and leading process improvement opportunities.

The most qualified candidates will have:

• 3 years of experience working in the building materials industry
• Experience with estimating and/or detailing commercial projects
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs
• Strong math skills and a solid understanding of business financial concepts
• The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills, a high level of creativity, and the desire to provide superior customer service.
• College degree or equivalent experience
