Heavy Equipment Operator

Position Overview: As a Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in asphalt and paving, you will play a key role in the construction and maintenance of roads, parking lots, and other asphalt surfaces. Operating heavy machinery such as pavers, rollers, and skid steers, you will work closely with our paving crew to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:


  • Operate heavy equipment, including pavers, rollers, skid steers, and other machinery used in asphalt and paving projects.
  • Follow project plans, specifications, and instructions from supervisors to ensure accurate and timely completion of paving tasks.
  • Monitor equipment performance and adjust as needed to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with crew members to prepare surfaces, lay asphalt, and compact materials to achieve desired results.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime.
  • Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in asphalt and paving construction.
  • Proficiency in operating pavers, rollers, skid steers, and other specialized equipment used in paving operations.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt and paving techniques, materials, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
