Position Overview:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building facilities, grounds, tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, executing preventative maintenance, and responding to service requests. The position includes verifying shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that products are stored correctly. The technician will collaborate with Department Leadership to maintain facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

FULL ON-SITE POSITION

UP TO 10% TRAVEL REQUIRED WITH THIS ROLE

In this position you will have the opportunity to
Ensure facilities, training yards, labs, grounds, parking lots and vehicles are maintained, functioning efficiently and have a clean appearance.

Performs routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and documents in a work order management system.

Assist the department leadership in coordinating the work of contractors related to maintenance or improvement projects.

Purchase parts, equipment, and supplies as needed for facilities, training yards and labs, grounds, and vehicles.

Assists with the set-up of facilities for meetings, classroom events, conferences, general campus events; may work individually or as a team for set-up and tear-down.

Responsible for custodial duties as needed and as assigned by department leadership (specific requirements and scope of responsibility vary by location).

Act as primary point of contact for all shipments arriving on campus, receives and unloads all incoming materials and confirms packing slip info matches order to verify shipment against purchase orders in ERP system and places into inventory utilizing RFSmart technology and bar-code system for transactional efficiency.

Prepares shipments for postal and commercial conveyance, selecting appropriate shipping containers and packs items to ensure safe delivery.

Inspects and ensures material for quality and specifications and follow ups with vendor regarding damaged or incorrect shipments.

Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED.

Two (2) years prior work experience in facility repairs, general construction, warehouse maintenance, vehicle maintenance, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

Valid driver's license, good driving record, and be able to obtain a Class A CDL with airbrake endorsement and Certified Forklift Operator's license during first year of employment.

Proven experience in Receiving/Inventory/Warehousing knowledge.

$20.95 - $23.57 DOE
