Our Sumter, SC location is seeking a Manager PI Engineering to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us? THE POSITION Manager PI Engineering, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC, Sumter, SC: Design, develop and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial tire production processes. Ensure processes are optimized for process capabilities, cost, minimize rework and comply with the established Release Notice Procedure, Cured Tire Dimensions, and QMD Standards. Monitor and initiates corrective actions required to maintain tire QM wheel, field performance and adjustments levels which exceed or meet the established corporate goals. Review new tires releases and product enhancement to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines. Prepares weekly and monthly KPIs to monitor and track the PI construction group performance and goal attainment. Reviews weekly SOP plan with R&D, Global Tire Sourcing, and Plant Operations in order to ensure timely availability of tire specifications. Initiates and supports Value Leadership programs for quality, material, construction and corporate areas. Drive process to translate R&D requirements into tangible impacts on the plant (in terms of invest, capacity, and capability). Create career development and succession plans for PI construction department personnel. Telecommuting permitted up to 20% per week. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or a related field, plus 7 years of related work experience (at least 5 years of which must be post-baccalaureate, progressive experience). Must have 6 years of experience in each of the following: Working in a tire manufacturing environment, including experience in plant systems and processes, interconnected plant and R&D processes, LEAN processes and structured problem solving; and Product Industrialization, specifically tire design, performance and manufacturing. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: Implementing original equipment manufacturer requirements; Project managing the industrialization of new and existing products, processes and materials for the automotive industry; Analyzing tire testing and cured tire dimensions; and Managing employees working in a manufacturing environment, including experience as a manager working across multi-functional teams.
