Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs, measuring patient metrics, and documenting medical histories.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary medical supplies and equipment are stocked and readily available.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and post-care instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and prepare them for analysis.
  • Administer medications and injections under the direction and supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
  • Assist with patient referrals and coordination of care with specialists and other healthcare facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and administrative areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • CPR certification (BLS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic medical records (EMR) systems, and basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care, specialty clinics, or outpatient services.
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, infection control protocols, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
