Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Optician - General Manager to lead our optical store in North Charleston. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.
- Provide visionary leadership to achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service
- Manage and optimize store profitability by monitoring sales, performance goals, and P&L statements
- Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and budgeted goals
- Oversee visual merchandising and ensure proper execution of store promotions and advertising campaigns
- Recruit, train, and supervise store associates, fostering a motivated and high-performing team
- Analyze market trends and compile competitive information to inform business decisions
- Generate and present daily and weekly performance reports to upper management
- Maintain professional relationships with doctors, National Vision associates, and customers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain required licenses
- Implement and monitor quality control measures for all optical products and services
Qualifications
- Valid state license as an Optician
- ABO & NCLE Certification
- Proven management experience in the retail optical industry
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent customer service orientation with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences
- Proficient in financial management, including P&L analysis and budget forecasting
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
- Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to optical retail management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in visual merchandising and promotional strategies
- Knowledge of current optical industry trends and best practices
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred (not required)
