Overview:
Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) is seeking a Manager, Construction Quality Services to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.
This Manager manages Quality Assurance Engineers and Inspectors responsible for all nuclear facility construction related activities. Responsible for procedures to properly implement quality program requirements for Construction activities. Oversees assessments, surveillance, and audits of assigned scope. Projects range from small scope modifications to large multi-hundred million capital asset projects.
Responsibilities:
Effectively manages SRMC Construction Quality personnel, implements quality program requirements for Construction activities, and oversees assessments/surveillances/audits.
Provides consultation and guidance for adherence and implementation of requirements under DOE Order 414.1 QA and NQA-1
Ensures effective implementation of quality related activities for construction modifications for company nuclear facilities.
Manages certified quality assurance engineers and quality assurance inspectors to ensure nuclear grade design and construction activities meet established nuclear safety and quality program requirements
Develops and approves programs and procedures for nuclear facility construction activities to implement SRS Quality Program requirements.
Defines and approves flow down requirements to subtler suppliers performing work for company construction projects. Defines and performs oversight of suppliers for applicable requirements.
Interfaces with and provides strategic communication with Department of Energy (DOE) and other independent oversight organizations (e.g., Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board).
Establishes and monitors objectives, schedules and actions for construction quality work activities. Provides direction, interpretation, and input to quality issues for all construction tasks. Resolves issues, removes constraints and obstacles.
Ensures construction work teams follow company and site policies and procedures, and external regulatory body requirements to meet quality program standards.
Performs frequent, scheduled and non-scheduled tours of work areas both on and off shift to observe conditions and communicate performance standards.
Interfaces with facility and construction personnel and management (e.g. construction, engineering) to ensure task completion while maintaining high level quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and related experience; or
High School diploma/GED and combination of secondary education and/or related experience
Additional Information:
Physically capable to obtain Radiation Worker qualifications including respiratory protection.
Physically capable to access construction sites such as climb ladders, access heights in lifts, etc.
Current or previous NQA-1 auditor or lead auditor (or equivalent) qualification
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related preferred
Demonstrated expertise in Nuclear Quality Program implementation
Current or previous ASNT TC 1A Level II or Level III Nondestructive testing certification
Current or previous ASNT TC 1A Level II or Level III certification in disciplines such as mechanical, civil, electrical
Demonstrated Leadership in managing quality related activities for large scale projects under DOE Order 413.3 programs
Demonstrated leadership in effective supply chain management

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.
