Summary:
Full-time member of Outreach team responsible for assisting independent living case managers/manager with the transportation of clients and other related, non-professional duties. The goal is to help the caseworker/manager enhance a family's ability to be self-sufficient. This position is also responsible for administrative and direct service support for programs including Youth Mentoring, Prison, Reentry, Workforce Development and other agency programs.
Duties:
Transportation Aide
? Learn and maintain knowledge of appropriate regulations and agency policies.
? Participate in prescribed training programs.
? Client transportation, transportation of supplies and materials on behalf of the agency.
? Assist caseworker/manager by providing other supportive services as detailed in the case service plan.
? Report outcome of activities to the caseworker or the assigning entity (supervisor, director, etc)
? Must operate under the guidelines of Outreach.
? Participates in team meetings as assigned.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
? Office attendance is mandatory.
Program Assistant
? Assist with tutoring/mentoring for all Youth Mentoring, Prison, Reentry, Workforce Development programs.
? Provides file documentation, performs data entry into agency database system and program specific software, compiles data and reports, processes program related paperwork, etc
? Prepares general correspondence, reports, training material, certificates, schedules, charts and graphs, and other printed material using Windows-based software
? Assembles materials for programs
? Assists with photocopying, ordering/purchasing and similar team operations
? Acts as back up for additional programs (including programming at Lackawanna County Prison/Assessments) as needed and performs other duties as assigned
? Be able to use a computer along with any application currently in usage.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
? Office attendance is mandatory.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Legally and physically be able to operate a motor vehicle
• Be physically able to work evening hours as requested
• Be able to ambulate throughout the agency and private homes
• Be able to use a computer along with any application currently in usage; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom or related software.

Education/Experience:
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. 1-2 years related experience and/or training. Helpful experience and/or background to include, experience in human services; familiarity with probation/parole, office of youth and family services & the court system; experience working with youth and at-risk populations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software; Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software; Internet software and Database software. Keyboarding & DE proficiency; strong computer aptitude required.
Required Certificates and Licenses:
Must have, or meet the requirements to obtain, current ACT 33 (Child Abuse) & 34 (Criminal Background) Clearances, LCP background clearance.
Must be able to obtain additional clearances as required.
Must have a valid driver's license
Must meet auto insurance requirements or be able to attain required coverage within 30 days of hire
Must annually complete all training hours required by Outreach and/or accreditations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Traveling in a high-crime/low-income area is often necessary. Local, regional and occasional long-distance travel required. The ability to work with justice involved individuals is required. Position is in Lackawanna County; an easy commute from Wilkes Barre, Hazleton, Bloomsburg, and Stroudsburg.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally transporting supplies/materials. Currently, this position will be transporting Outreach clients in their personal vehicle and will need reliable transportation for that purpose.
