Job description
Job Title:Shipping and Receiving Technician - Neville Island
1st Shift: 1st 6:00 am 2:30 pm
Description:
Implements the shipping, receiving, and inventory organization of materials and goods according to work requisitions and orders, assuring shipments are prepared, loaded and shipped on the desired date, including all necessary labeling and paperwork accompanying shipments;
Internally transports materials and goods for the purpose of shipping and receiving preparation;
Loading and unloading experience for Box Trailer, Liquid Bulk Tankers and Oversea Containers. Processing of deliverables according to internal Logistics instructions and guidelines.
Cleans and maintains warehouse areas and equipment regularly as required, promoting environmental cleanliness and efficiency;
Participates in the quarterly and annual physical inventory verification and identification processes;
Responds to internal inquiries regarding the shipping and receipt of deliverables;
Maintains warehouse documentation and records according to Departmental procedures;
Attends and participates in meetings and safety sessions as required, providing accurate reporting and completing job safety evaluations as requested;
Receives and completes daily work assignments, documentation and checklists as required, adhering to process and safety guidelines and requirements;
Participates in and completes other projects and tasks as assigned.
Work Relation (which are the 3 most important work relations with internal and external partners):
Logistics & Supply Chain personnel (i.e. Inventory and Customer Service)
Manufacturing and production personnel.
External logistics parties and vendors.

Individual RC-HESS responsibilities include:
Knowledge of RC-HESS issues, especially those with a significant impact
Vigilance for RC-HESS issues, especially those with a significant impact
Immediate response, correction and reporting of RC-HESS issues, especially those with a significant impact
Knowledge and use of RC-HESS work practices
Maintenance of a clean and uncluttered work area
Compliance with the company RC-HESS rules
Completion of required RC-HESS training
Suggestions to improve RC-HESS performance
Immediate reporting of RC-HESS incidents and near hits
Immediate reporting of unsure acts and conditions that you are unsure of their hazard(s)
Avoidance of unsafe acts
Participation in RC-HESS inspections, job safety analyses, job safety observations, recycling, service on RC-HESS committees, etc.
Treatment of RC-HESS as part of your most important job responsibilities and
Use of the LANXESS Management System (LMS).
Additional RC-HESS responsibilities for those with Management roles include:
Set the highest example by knowledge of the RC-HESS rules and following them
Ensuring workers are encouraged to report hazards, incidents (e.g. injuries, spills/releases), and near hits; and that there are no programs or policies discouraging this reporting.
Skills/Experience:
The education, skills, experiences and personal characteristics necessary for success in this assignment. In cases where years of experience are used for illustration, these should be considered as MINIMUM requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED.)
Previous warehousing experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to function independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of hazardous materials and the appropriate handling and disposal of such products preferred.
Solid mathematical and computer literacy skills. Microsoft software, SAP knowledge a plus.
Superior verbal and written English communication and comprehension skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Current tow motor/forklift operator certification/license or experience.
Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Adherence to Company attendance and punctuality policies and standards and corporate values.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekend hours as needed.
Ability to meet and maintain established occupational demands and fitness for duty requirements.
