Food & Beverage Supervisor

Job Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor Hotel Department: Food and Beverage

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Summary: Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the front of the house staff of the restaurant and gastropub ensuring the efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service in the food and beverage area. Operates according to established procedures and standards set forth by Embassy Suites and Indus Hotels.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Perform frequent checks of the restaurant and banquet facilities to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service.
  • Supervise the operation of the bar to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Assist with the training and scheduling of food service personnel.
  • Maintains standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to insure guest satisfaction.
  • Inspects all pre and post shift side work and cleanliness of outlets.
  • Maintains standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
  • Works weekends and holidays, as assigned or necessary.
  • Carries and responds to appropriate communication device at all times.
  • Ensures effective, timely, and accurate communications regarding policies and procedures, achievement of hotel goals, etc. with staff.
  • Additional responsibilities may be designated by Management.

Qualifications: High level of professionalism; excellent written and oral communication; strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead. Knowledge of health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations. Ability to clearly and concisely present and train on F&B topics.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma; College Degree Preferred; Previous Banquet Experience required

Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbal/written with guests, associates and managers.

Equipment/Computer Expertise: Knowledge of Excel and Word; Basic spreadsheet creation; ability to compose and send email. POS knowledge a must.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking and bending throughout shift; moving and carrying of tables and chairs; ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to lift 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Able to work flexible schedule including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Compensation details: 18-20 Yearly Salary
