Supply Chain Manager
Essential Job Functions:
The Supply Chain Manager is a hands-on position responsible for managing existing supplier relationships, negotiating landed costs for raw materials and sub-contracted services to achieve inventory and margin goals. This position will also be actively involved in researching and onboarding new suppliers for goods and services per product specification guidelines.
This individual will be responsible for the set up and maintenance of the Company's MRP system including vendors, items, routings, and product structures.
The Supply Chain Manager will provide day-to-day leadership, skill development and strategic guidance to Purchasing. This role will work closely with Quality, R&D and Product Development on new product launches, new raw material, and supplier onboarding and will partner with Production and Logistics to optimize their efficiency.
What you will be doing:
Procurement
Negotiate pricing and delivery of multi-category items to achieve COGS and inventory turn goals.
In partnership with R&D, sources new suppliers for both existing and new items. Work with Quality/Regulatory department on vendor qualification.
Ensure the delivery of required product to schedules.
Search for opportunities to find suppliers in closer proximity to manufacturing plant.
Planning
Support Production in implementation of the manufacturing plan.
Facilitate demand and supply planning to ensure gaps between demand and supply are clearly understood, communicated and appropriate actions are in place to resolve.
Develops ERP tools to enhance the procurement and planning processes.
Seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain by reviewing current processes and methodology.
Work closely with Production Manager to Integrate Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse functions into product supply planning for the purpose of optimizing space and inventory movements.
Execute on time-sensitive deliverables for new product launch initiatives.
What you will bring:
10+ years of recent relevant experience in supply chain, in a medical device company, or similar regulated industry.
Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field.
5+ years of experience managing a team with excellent leadership skills.
Advanced ERP system skillset. QAD a plus.
Desire and ability to roll up your sleeves.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with people at all levels.
Strong experience in purchasing management.
Desire and ability to travel (5% to 10%)
Strong customer service focus to enhance satisfaction, demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Extensive knowledge of supply chain, distribution, and manufacturing.
Ability to develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with third-parties.
Proven cost-reduction track record.
Project management and ability to develop strong support for change with all levels of internal and external organizations.
Ability to negotiate contracts, review legal documents, specification sheets and other technical documentation.
Integrity and discretion in dealing with confidential information.
