Job Overview:
The Patient Access Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling Outpatient, MAC, and Therapy appointments, as assigned. Responsible for scheduling via incoming phone calls, work queues and emails. Will be responsible for prioritizing scheduling requests based on visit type and requested return date. This position will report to the Patient Access Supervisor. Monday - Friday, no weekends/holidays.
Responsibilities:
AMBULATORY SCHEDULING
Schedules clinic appointments and notifies patients and families via telephone system or MyChart
Prepares and distributes daily patient schedule list for Security use
Maintains accurate and current information in the Shriners Hospital for Children's electronic medical record (EPIC/SHCIS).
Ensures that reschedule and return appointments are scheduled according to the established guidelines adopted by the department and facility
Assist in responding to Patient Access scheduling emails.
Schedule via PHL Clinic Appointment workqueue
Responsible for scheduling MAC, and Therapy appointments, as assigned.
Coordinate appointments based on request for multiple providers on same day, including Rehab.
Obtains and/or verifies all patient demographic data in EPIC/SHCIS
Manage high volume phone calls, meeting standards established by department for responsiveness.
Documentation of means test into EPIC/SHCIS.
Cover Front Desk as needed.
Communicates any unresolved issues with the Patient Access Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Preferred
High School Diploma preferred
2-4 years of Patient Access experience in a pediatric healthcare setting preferred.
2-4 years of experience in a call center or dedicated scheduling enviroment preferred.
Requirement
Bilingual in Spanish
