Position : Corporate Accounting Manager

Location : Monroe, New Jersey (Must be willing to travel 10% of the time)

Industry : Multilocation Ethnic Food and Beverage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Distributor

Reports To : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Overview :

Seeking an experienced and dynamic Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in managing and overseeing the accounting operations of our multilocation ethnic food and beverage distribution business. The Corporate Accounting Manager will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial management across all operating companies.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Financial Management and Reporting :

- Responsible for the company's corporate accounting operations and 2 small operating comoanies, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.

- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.

- Assist in the consolidation of financial statements for multiple operating locations.

- Report financial results to the CFO and provide insights and analysis to support decision-making.

2. Operational Responsibilities :

- Coordinate with the heads of various operating companies to ensure accounting practices align with corporate objectives.

- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting operations across all locations.

- Monitor and manage working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting :

- Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting support.

- Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management.

- Implement financial planning tools to enhance forecasting accuracy.

4. Internal Controls and Compliance :

- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

- Assist with annual external audits and respond to audit findings.

5. Team Leadership and Development :

- Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional growth.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team.

- Coordinate training programs to keep the team updated on accounting regulations and best practices.

- Dotted Line Responsibility : Provide oversight and support to four regional controllers, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and objectives.

6. Technology and Systems :

- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software.

- Ensure the integration of accounting systems with other business systems to streamline operations.

- Leverage technology to improve financial reporting and analysis capabilities.

7. Risk Management :

- Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, credit, and market risks.

- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to mitigate financial risks and ensure business continuity.

- Oversee insurance policies and manage relationships with insurance providers.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.

- Experience in the food and beverage distribution industry, particularly in a direct store delivery (DSD) model, is highly desirable.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.

- Proven experience in managing multi-location accounting operations and working with operating companies.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
