ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Coordination with other departments within the agency
o The Behavioral Health Administrator is the primary resource person for coordination with other departments within Esperanza Health Center, including but not limited to IT, HR, Operations, Clinical Operations and and senior leadership, in order to assure good communication and efficient workflows
o Works with other departments or individuals as needed to ensure completion of administrative tasks for the department, including tasks related to accreditation and credentialing of behavioral health providers
• Coordination with external agencies
o The Behavioral Health Administrator serves as a primary point of contact with various agencies with whom Esperanza collaborates for patient care
o Maintains updated MOUs with these agencies
o facilitates communication as needed
• Information Analysis
o Assists Director in overseeing Quality Assurance measures
o Collaborates with department staff and leadership to create policies, as needed, in collaboration with other department leaders as appropriate
o Works with other departments to track and analyze information related to billing and revenue; implements process improvements as needed
o Analyzes workflow trends and provides input to BHCs and director
• Grant Management
o Leads and coordinates grant applications
o Analyzes grant progress in achieving deliverables.
o Analyzes data produced by IT reports
o Provides direction to department staff and programs in regard to progress toward grant target goals.
o Assists BH Director and BHC team with grants management
o Meets with Development Department to report periodically as required by grant
• Project Management
o Manages major BH department projects as assigned by BH Director, working with BH Coordinator as needed.
• Supervision
o Serves as the direct supervisor to the Behavioral Health Coordinator
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, public health, social work, or other related fields.
• 2+ year's administrative experience; demonstrated ability to handle many details and multiple priorities. Must show ability to organize information, process, and verify details.
• Experience in program development and execution.
• Knowledge or background with behavioral health and substance use treatment preferred.
• People skills that are transferable to Esperanza's patient and community population
• Knowledge of health care systems and related services preferred.
• Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of community resources, churches and community organizations, especially those with focus on the Latino community.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical ability
• Excellent initiative, problem solving skills and flexibility required.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of database and data analysis.
• Works in harmonious partnership with health center staff to further Esperanza's mission and vision, to accomplish common goals and objectives.
• Supports the Esperanza mission and vision; favorably represents Christ and His mission at Esperanza within and outside the Health Center.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Work extensively at computer keyboard, read fine print on screen, and perform other tasks and activities on a computer in a regular office environment
• Occasional need to work outside of normal office hours
• Able to travel (less than 10%)
