About The Function:
Our client, a deeply mission-driven Catholic organization, has inspired and empowered Catholic leaders across the nation. Now, they're seeking an innovative, hands-on Vice President of Finance to take the reins of their financial strategy. In this pivotal role, you'll not only guide the financial direction of an independent, thriving non-profit but also contribute to a legacy rooted in service, stewardship, and community impact.

As the top finance executive, you'll have the opportunity to implement best practices in financial management that protect and grow the organization's assets, all while advancing a mission you believe in. You'll collaborate with the CEO and serve on the leadership team, taking ownership of everything from strategic planning and risk management to operational budgeting and financial forecasting.

Are you ready to make a difference where faith and financial stewardship meet? We're looking for a candidate who fully embraces our client's mission and can lead with both integrity and vision, ensuring our apostolate's goals are not only met but exceeded.

Key Responsibilities Include

Contribute as a key leader in the annual budgeting and operational planning process.

Engage in ongoing strategic planning conversations with the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors to ensure proper prioritization of financial investments aligned with our apostolate's strategic direction.

Finance:

Develop, analyze, and report on financial strategies that fulfill our strategic direction and demonstrate responsible Christian stewardship to our ministry and philanthropic partners.

Make informed business recommendations based on comprehensive financial analysis, projections, cost identification and allocation, revenue/expense analysis, and risk assessments.

Maximize return on investment by considering appropriate timing and adhering to risk management principles within our Investment Policy guidelines.

Budget, secure, and allocate organizational resources to effectively achieve our operational plan objectives.

People:

Attract, develop, and retain a team of staff and volunteers who possess the gifts, talents, and commitment necessary to serve Christ and fulfill our vision and plan.

Ensure sound financial procedures throughout the apostolate by engaging and motivating the Leadership Team and the entire mission implementation team.

Provide primary staff leadership to the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, actively participating in regular meetings and contributing to other standing or ad-hoc committees as needed.

Governance and Administration:

Document, assess, and refine key business structures and processes across the organization to increase the effectiveness of our ministry and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions, including conducting annual audits and reporting findings to the Board.

Safeguard assets and investments through the design and oversight of financial and internal controls that reflect current best practices for non-profit entities, fostering ongoing growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or related field. CPA or MBA/MFA preferred.

Over 10 years of experience in finance and operations, demonstrating organizational leadership and managing the finance and administration of a high-growth organization (non-profit experience preferred).
