As a licensed professional in nursing administration, this position entails overseeing, evaluating, planning, and executing public health services and initiatives specifically in the Northcentral and Southcentral Districts. The individual in this role will supervise Community Health Nurse Supervisors (CHNSs) and Communicable Disease Nurse Consultants, while also serving as the reviewing officer for all personnel at the State Health Center, ensuring that the highest standards of public health are maintained. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will conduct annual reviews of county-level assessments alongside Community Health Nurses Supervisors (CHNSs) to guarantee that both district and county health priorities are identified and effectively addressed. This position entails the planning and management of health promotion initiatives, risk reduction strategies, clinical services, emergency response efforts, special projects, and community engagement activities, all in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standing orders of the Bureau of Community Health Services (BCHS). Furthermore, it is essential to collaborate with various Bureaus to ensure that all reportable diseases, certain non-reportable diseases, and outbreaks are thoroughly investigated in a timely and accurate manner, thereby safeguarding both patient and public health. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing on-call support for the 1-877 PA Health hotline, ensuring that urgent public health issues are addressed promptly. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. + The headquarters location will be determined by the selected applicant. Headquarters can be in the Northcentral District (consisting of Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union counties) or Southcentral District (consisting of Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, and York counties). + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. + You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + Four years of professional community or public health nursing experience supplemented by two years of experience supervising registered nurses; or + An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional community or public health nursing experience supplemented by two years of experience supervising registered nurses. Special Requirement: + All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania + All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Other Requirements: + PA residency requirement () is currently waivedfor this title. + You must be able to perform essential job functions.
