Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Professional or Mental Health Worker is responsible for providing one-on-one mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults. The Mental Health Professional or Mental Health Worker will utilize the most appropriate therapeutic modality to achieve treatment goals which includes but is not limited to family therapy/couples' therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required:
The management of a client caseload is the sole responsibility of the Mental Health Professional with guidance from the Outpatient Clinical Site Supervisor on an as needed basis. Maintain client records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform client intakes and diagnostic evaluations on new intakes and gather information for inclusion into the comprehensive treatment plan that is presented to supervising psychiatrist for signature within 5 days of intake if insurance provider requires it.
The development of the comprehensive individualized treatment plan for all clients on the assigned caseload and the presentation of the plan to the supervising psychiatrist for signature.
Following agency guidelines as outlined in the CORE Psychiatric & Psychological Services policy and procedure manual, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) manual, and agency correspondence that are distributed that address company procedures and/or employee conduct.
Providing direct individual, family, and group psychotherapy to clients.
Ensure the completion of appropriate progress notes, updated treatment plans every one hundred and twenty (120) days or 15 sessions (Therapy and Medication Management sessions included), individualized crisis plans, DSM-V pages, and all documents related to discharge of all clients on the caseload.
Attending monthly staff meetings, supervision, and participate in the review of agency progress on service goal outcomes, issues with staff adherence to agency policies, discuss future agency planning, and review training opportunities or identify staff training needs.
Exercise a high level of professional conduct when interacting with clients, family members, other agencies, school personnel, and community entities.
Attending trainings and educational opportunities to adhere to state mandated regulations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have completed graduate degree from an accredited program in a generally recognized clinical discipline in which degree includes a clinical practicum or have a license in recognized clinical discipline that includes mental health experience or possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited program in a recognized clinical discipline or a graduate degree in a clinical discipline with 12 graduate-level credits in mental health or counseling from an accredited university. LPC and/or LCSW preferred.
