Job description

SPAARK is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who is a expert in MMPI-2 Subject Matter and who can provide a professional review and interpretation of records for The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). For this role you must possess extensive knowledge and experience in aviation behavioral health for determining eligibility for ATCS clearance. Review scored Tier 1 MMPI-2 Screening reports and provide interpretations in the form of "Cleared," "Not Cleared," or "Re-administration Eligible (RA)." Review Tier 2 evaluation results, which requires subject matter expertise in the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI), Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI)-III/IV, and Paulhus Deception Scales (PDS), with additional expertise in the Rorschach preferred. independently review all screenings, evaluations, and records for each identified ATCS as needed, including but not limited to medical applications and all pertinent medical and legal documentation. Download scored MMPI-2 Screening profiles, review and provide recommendations in the form of "Cleared," "Not Cleared," or "RA" recording the result on the provided batch-specific Excel spreadsheet, and in the internal database provided for this purpose, or in another approved data storage system. Re-label the "Not Cleared" MMPI-2 file by adding the applicant's Last Name_First Name_Middle Initial before the DIWS-issued Pathology Index Number (PI#) assigned by the FAA. Record the basis for a "Not Cleared" recommendation including elevated Validity scales, clinical scales, and other scales as specified in the internal database, or another approved data storage system. Interpret those profiles which were administered under re-administration instructions. Recommendations will be provided in the form of "Clear" or "Not Clear". "Not Clear" recording procedures will be the same as described above. Reviews Tier 2 psychological evaluations and provides written recommendation regarding the applicant's psychological qualification for ATCS duties to AAM-200 Clinical Psychologists. Alert AAM-200 of any applicant needing a follow-up wellness check based on results indicating the potential for harm to self/others, as consented to by all applicants for follow-up. Be available to communicate when required with AAM medical officers/staff or other treating/evaluating providers related to the review of psychological evaluation cases, via phone call, email, teleconference or other means. Submit completed interpretations to the FAA as promptly as possible to maximize efficiencies for both the contractor and the FAA. Psychologists must have attended all required training assigned by AAM-200 including the Tier 1 training performed during onboarding and Tier 2 training held annually in the fall at the Aerospace Behavioral Health Seminar (ABHS). Additional training will be provided by AAM-200 as needed for any updates to the methodology or processes. Provide and maintain a schedule of availability to the COR and COR designee. Qualifications Qualifications: May be required to travel if/ when a need arises Current, valid, and unrestricted licensed Clinical Psychologist with 5+ years of relevant experience within the last 10 years Possess a Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Psychology degree in clinical psychology from an accredited college approved by the American Psychological Association. Be familiar with the DSM-V-TR, FAA medical standards and psychological instruments (such as Rorschach, MMPI-2, PAI, MCMI. PDS etc.). Provide a current Curriculum Vitae (CV) and/or other documentation as requested by the government that demonstrates expert knowledge and experience in the detection, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of aviation behavioral health conditions and disorders. Possess extensive knowledge and experience in aviation behavioral health for determining eligibility for ATCS clearance, to include understanding the culture and working conditions of the aviation professionals and the application of FAA ATCS normative data to psychological instrument interpretation. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in reviewing and summarizing behavioral health material, to include providing comprehensive review analysis and psychological case reports in the context of Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Title 14, Part 67 (Aviation Medical Certification), FAA Order 3930.3 series (Air Traffic Control Specialist Health Program), FAA Order 8500.4, Administering the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) Test to Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) Candidates, the Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) Guide, and other prescribed guidance. • Must be currently trained as an AAM-200 ATCS FAA Tier 2 provider and be willing to maintain the training. May also be requested to provide additional services under this contract or other agreement to include: Provide expert witness testimony involving cases previously reviewed or requiring new independent review; Participate in the Federal Air Surgeon's Behavioral Health Panel; Participate in other tasks related to FAS policies and procedures to include literature reviews, medication/therapy reviews, policy/protocol development, educational activities, expert summit meetings, etc. Safegaurd Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) Information Handle SUI in accordance with FAA Order 1370.121A: FAA Information Security and Privacy Program & Policy and the Privacy Act. Established procedures for securing materials and data (re: NIST Special Publication 800-171, Protecting Controlled Unclassified information in non-federal information systems and organization) upon contract award that will include: Procedures for reviewing all documents for SUI to include Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Procedures for safeguarding "Confidential" and "Sensitive" materials. Procedures for assurance that all documents are secured at all times and are never left unattended including safeguard measures for Protected Health Information (PHI)/Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) data. Procedures to prevent discussion outside of information contained on any medical or other document containing personally identifiable information (PII). Procedures to prevent addresses or information from being disseminated to anyone regarding a specific individual, e.g., celebrities or dignitaries.
