We are looking for a talented Senior Architectural Specialist to join our industry Global Strategy & Technology (GS&T) department in our Blue Bell, PA headquarters.

Reporting to the Director of Process Architecture, the Senior Architectural Specialist (GS&T) works independently on various projects as assigned by the Director of Process Architecture. This individual may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design. The Senior Architectural Specialist (GS&T) may work on several concurrent projects.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Active participation in industry organizations and related initiatives is strongly preferred (for example: speaking engagements, presenting at industry events and conferences, etc.)

Assist in the development of proposals to communicate the approach to the project and highlight expertise in the planning and design of facilities for the life science industry.

Collaborate with marketing to develop and maintain qualifications, project portfolios, and other marketing materials.

Facilitate relationship development with potential and existing clients

Facilitate project kick-offs and workshops, with a focus on establishing projects drivers and design basis.

Collaborate with IPS disciplines

Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget and staffing.

Assist in the management of the client and team, with a focus on design progression within the agreed upon schedule and budget.

Write scope of work for architectural design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.

Knowledge of applicable building codes.

Assign and review work of project design team. Check progress of work and alert Project Manager to change of scope or additional services.

Coordinate all aspects of preliminary design document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals. Proficient written and oral communications skills.

Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.

Promote use of and participate in development of company design and production standards.

Assist in the mentorship, education and development of design staff and act as resource for design and industry questions.

Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE

10 + Years of architectural design experience in the designated specialty (i.e. as a Lab Architect or Process Architect).

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College, preferably in Architecture; registered architect and AIA certification is preferred.

Proven experience leading conceptual design efforts.

Proficient use of a computer for design and an understand of CAD operations preferred (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).

Must have the ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts (knowledge of building and zoning codes).

Holistic facility design skills preferred (Exterior/façade design as well as interior layout development)

Proven experience interacting and communicating directly with clients.

Active participation in industry organizations and related initiatives is strongly preferred (for example: speaking engagements, presenting at industry events and conferences, etc.).

Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on more than one project at a time.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY

Travel based on the project location.

This position is a safety sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research or other "non-administrative" areas.
