Provides professional mental health care in the psychiatric inpatient and/ or outpatient/ Partial Hospital Program programs.
The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the
proper release of information.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient
and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements
Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in
interactions with all customers (internal and external).
Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical
Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient
use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and
development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
Provides mental health care evaluations, medication management, and follow-up visits. Provides training to Medical and/or Advanced Practice students either through supervision , of students or provides education in the form of lectures and journal discussions.
10. Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures
effecting medical practice, judgement, and quality of behavioral health services.
11. Coordinates work with the physicians and staff at the other behavioral health locations.
12. Supervises the Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners.
13. Performs and directs medical quality improvement activities.
14. Act as a liaison with the medical community.
15. Demonstrates competency in assigned areas of responsibility.
16. Attends and participates in St. Luke's Psychiatric Associates Medical Staff Meetings, St. Luke's Physician Group Medical Staff Meetings and St. Luke's Hospital Medical Staff Meetings as required
