Job description

Seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Field Superintendent to manage large-scale self-storage design-build projects from site work through building construction. This role is ideal for a self-starter who excels in field management, can make informed decisions, and is skilled at leading multiple trades on site.

Description

• Site Supervision: Oversee daily on-site activities, ensuring all phases of construction are executed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

• Trade Coordination: Supervise up to 35-40 workers, including multiple trade crews (concrete, site work, steel, etc.), ensuring smooth coordination between trades for timely project completion.

• Scheduling & Planning: Independently manage and adjust daily/weekly work schedules to meet project timelines, coordinating closely with the Project Manager (PM) who oversees the overall schedule.

• Procore Utilization: Use Procore to track project progress, log daily reports, and communicate updates and issues to the project team effectively.

• Quality & Safety Assurance: Conduct quality control inspections, enforce safety protocols, and ensure the project meets company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Decision-Making: Leverage knowledge of site work and building construction to make on-the-spot decisions that keep the project moving forward. Must be willing and able to learn and adapt as new challenges arise.

• Communication & Reporting: Collaborate closely with the PM to report daily progress, potential issues, and coordinate any required adjustments to the project plan.

Profile

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in large-scale commercial or specialty construction. Specific experience with self-storage or design-build projects preferred.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Procore, with a solid understanding of concrete, site work, and steel construction. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

• Leadership: Proven track record managing diverse trade teams and effectively leading crews of up to 40 people on-site.

• Traits: Highly reliable, trustworthy, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. A self-starter who is confident in managing day-to-day operations and making key field decisions.
