Job description

OFD Foods, makers of Mountain House, the brand of freeze dried backpacking foods, is seeking a Brand Manager. You will work together with the Marketing Director and Marketing Team to create strategy and actively manage our brands in the marketplace. Experience with food and/or consumer packaged goods and current commercial brand management is desired. This role is located in Albany, OR.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:




  • Work with Marketing Director to create annual Marketing strategy and budget.

  • Evaluate performance of company brands in the context of competitive threats and market trends.

  • Own positioning and messaging of company brands that clearly communicates the unique value proposition to the defined consumer of each market segment.

  • Create and manage integrated campaigns throughout the year to build awareness and generate adoption with new consumers and increase loyalty with current consumers. These may include consumer promotions, public relations, social media, multi-channel advertising, etc.

  • Quantify and evaluate effectiveness by directing post-program analysis.

  • Initiate development of new products through consumer insight, including: consumer research, concept development, packaging design, product launch and marketing support plan. Manage product lifecycle.

  • Regularly interface with cross-functional teams to gain alignment on brand plans and drive execution.

  • Drive brand entry into new market segments through strategic positioning, web initiatives, selling materials, sales training, trade support, consumer promotions and sampling initiatives.





QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:




  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills. Frequent use of independent judgment required.

  • Diverse experience working across multiple retail channels (on and offline).

  • Retailer cooperative marketing program development and implementation.

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research tools and techniques.

  • Strong attention to details and an ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks & projects.

  • Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing, and listening.

  • Bachelor s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field. Work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 5+ years marketing experience, 3+ years in Brand Management.

  • 2+ years in the food and/or consumer packaged goods industries.

Salary depends on qualifications/experience.
