Southwest Electric Co. is looking for an Industrial Painter for 1st shift and for 3rd shift.
1st shift Painter: 56 hours / 6 days per week. Monday - Thursday 6 am to 4pm, Friday and Saturday 6 am to 2:30 pm/
3rd Shift Painter: 56 hours / 6 days per week.Sunday - Wednesday 7pm to 5:30 am, Thursday and Friday 9pm to 5:30 am.10% Shift Differential for 3rd Shift.


Industrial Painter Summary:

Detailed oriented, dependable, self-motivated individual capable of reading and understand blueprints and manufacturing instructions for the application of all paint coatings. Coatings include but are not limited to marine grade Zinc, polyurethane and epoxy primer. Load raw material into paint pressure pot and apply coatings per manufacturing instructions and or customer specifications. Manage and maintain paint booth and associated tools.


Industrial Painter Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:

  • Paint and apply finishing coats in accordance with blueprints, manufacturing instructions and/or customer specifications.
  • Set-up and maintain work areas and operate painting equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Record and report working hours and material usage.
  • Maintain clean work areas, tool repair, and equipment inventory.
  • Inspect paint jobs and materials, adjusting colors and fixing defects.
  • Read and understand manufacturing processes as it applies to painting.
  • Read, verify and understand bill of material (BOM).
  • Follow production schedule.
  • Load raw material into paint pressure pots
  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend the thickness of paint in mil. gauges.
  • Safely operate crane, pallet jack and forklift.

Requirements:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees within the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, divide, in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
