Job description

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a reliable, experienced Engineer/ Project Manager to work full time for SJS Executives supporting a Veteran's Affairs Hospital during their construction/renovation phase in Oklahoma City.

SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 150 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.

The pay for this position is $86,000. SJS offers the following benefits: PTO (80 hours accrual), 11 federal holidays paid off, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 401k.

The Engineer/Program Manager shall be technically competent and must possess an engineering degree from an ABET or NAAB accredited school or equivalent. The Engineer/Project Manager will have strong working knowledge of commercial construction standards and the ability to provide overall coordination of construction quality and safety for assigned projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Constructability review of design completed in-house or by outside firms for code compliance and constructability. This also includes Non-Routine Maintenance (NRM) construction, In-house funded and leased designs and submittals.
  • Develop procurement packages for maintenance service, NRM projects, and Maintenance agreements. This includes the Statement of Work (SOW), Cost Estimate, developing General Requirement, initial concepts and supporting sketches as appropriate.
  • Develop plans and solutions to identified problem areas by assisting staff in investigating areas of the facility. This includes discussions with engineering, medical and support staff and reviewing exiting facilities documents and assisting in planning future projects.
  • Develop a program for the systematic monitoring and aspect evaluation of a project to ensure that standards of quality are being met. The quality requirements for material and workmanship are to be incorporated into a construction project and the acceptance criteria by which the project will verify conformance with the plans and specifications.
  • Shall abide by applicable station rules and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program or Engineering Technology program. Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree preferred, but not required.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred but not required.
  • 4 or more years of systems design including at least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a Federal Agency.
  • Possess the skills and abilities to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing and experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel.
  • Shall have knowledge of construction scheduling methods and of building and construction crafts since they are required to verify that construction and maintenance work is performed in accordance with project plans and specifications and according to industry standards of workmanship.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
