We are currently looking for a Full Time Victim Services Coordinator to join our Lighthorse Police Department Ada team located at the Lighthorse Police Department - Ada Precinct working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

Responsibilities:
Establishes initial contact with victims and ensures victims are advised of their statutory rights throughout the criminal justice process
Aid victims in areas of crisis intervention, support, education/prevention, treatment, and referrals
Furnish immediate services to victims and witnesses who initiate requests. Provide information on case status, restitution, court procedures, etc
Accompanies victim to court proceedings as requested
Prepare victims for trial and explains procedures and expectations and answers any questions victims and witnesses may have before and after disposition
Assess victim concerns and determine program eligibility for victim assistance services
Collaborates with law enforcement and crime victims to assess and establish the needs of the crime victim; Depending on the crime and the condition of the crime victim, the VSC informs the victim of the crime victim bill or rights, provides them with resources and contact information for services needed
Develop and maintain a library of resource materials for use by victims, community organizations, and office staff
Promotes public awareness of services and programs available to victims/witnesses through community education and presentations
Conduct victim assistance workshops, seminars, presentations, and meetings with law enforcement personnel, investigative agency victim specialists, federal, state, tribal, and local officials, and members of the community
Develops and disseminates information pamphlets, brochures and other media advising victims/witnesses and their families of available resources.
Generates victim-related statistical and activity reports to Tribal, State, and Federal agencies
Prepares grant applications and administers programs funded by Tribal, Federal, and State sources
May visit crime scenes or detention facilities
