JOB TITLE: Manager, Utility Infrastructure DEPARTMENT: Platform Delivery REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Data Center Engineering SUMMARY: This individual will collaborate with multiple Aligned key stakeholders in the delivery of utility service, management, and strategy for data center facilities across the US and Internationally with a heavy emphasis on utility infrastructure & design, capacity management, and the phased delivery of power to Aligned Data Center locations. This role requires strong technical and communication skills to ensure that all critical systems operate synchronously. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop utility strategy and procurement across new and existing sites Develop and negotiate redundancy strategy and onsite substation master planning Engage with local utilities to develop capacity planning and execution plans Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Platform Delivery and Design teams to determine schedules for site development Monitor current site utilization vs available capacity, alerting the business to gaps and advising on capital planning Initiate capacity upgrades and requests with local utilities Coordinate with consultant design teams Communicate critical schedule details to internal stakeholders Work hand in hand with finance on commitments, costs, paybacks, riders, etc. Coordinate customer and internal executive deliverables with key stakeholders Review and responsibility for customers/pursuits documentation regarding utility sources Lead discussions, written and verbal, with Aligned senior leadership and Board of Directors Performs other related duties as assigned by management Ability to travel up to 20% STRONGLY DESIRED WORKING EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF: Project Management Software (MS Projects, Prolog, Procore, BIM 360, or similar). Knowledge and experience working with CAD 10+ years' experience in planning, designing, and implementing utility connections, with an emphasis on data centers preferred Degree in Electrical Engineering PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasionally required to stand Occasionally required to walk Frequently required to sit Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather) Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
