Gpac is working with a client company in Western Ohio who is seeking a Food Procurement Sourcing Specialist. This meat processing facility has been in business for almost 75 years, and they have steadily grown since! They have just under 250 employees, and their employee turnover is low because they invest in and take care of their employees!

Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, associate degree preferred
• Supply Chain Knowledge, how each function in supply chain works and supports the needs of the organization
• 5 years' experience in food sourcing, protein buying preferred
• Strong attention to detail, knowledge of software application and intermediate math

Responsibilities (not limited to):

• The overall strategy for purchased or allocated products to maintain a consistent supply and fulfill requirements.
• Maintain accountability and alignment of purchased inventory, consigned inventory, and used inventory.
• Manage and maintain procurement costs and delivery timing for future forecasted requirements.
• Work together with warehouse, sales, and dispatch to manage the inventory chain of custody when required.
• Maintain valuable relationships with internal and external sources.
• Address supplier issues through direct interaction.
• Escalate sourcing and procurement issues with Supply Chain Manager as required.
• Analyze relevant data to facilitate informed purchasing decisions and provide excellent service.
